What we keep, and for how long.

If you run a tab

We take your name, and your number if you give one, so we can keep your tab straight and send you the bill. Your number comes off that bill about three months after you pay it, and off our records altogether if you have not been in for a year. Sooner if you ask.

What you bought stays in our books, because that is our accounting and we are expected to keep it. Once we have forgotten you, those sales have nobody attached to them.

If you order from your phone

Your name, your number and your email, if you give them, and your open tab are remembered on your own phone so you do not type them again. Those stay on your phone, not with us, and clearing this site's data in your browser removes them. What you order goes on your tab with your name and number, like any other round.

When you pay

We keep how you paid, the amount, the time and the M-Pesa receipt code against your tab, because that is how we know it is paid. We never see your M-Pesa PIN or your card number.

If you pay by M-Pesa prompt, we pass your number and the amount to our payment service, Tinypesa, and through it to Safaricom, so the prompt can reach your phone.

When card payments are on, they go through Paystack, and the card company handles your card.

If you pay with or add TabFlow credit

TabFlow is a separate service that holds your balance. When you pay with it, or add credit at the bar, we pass TabFlow your number and the amount so it can check you have an account and record the payment. Your own page here shows your TabFlow balance, read by your number. What TabFlow keeps about you is covered by TabFlow's own privacy policy.

When your order is ready

We may send your bill or a ready message to your number on WhatsApp. The bar screen shows your first name and order number while your order waits to be collected, and nothing else. It disappears once you collect it.

If you buy a ticket or say you are coming

We use your name, email and number for your ticket and to remind you about that night. On nights hosted by others, tickets are sold on the host's own page, under their privacy policy.

If you leave an email

We use it for one thing: to tell you about the nights worth showing up for. Every email has a link to stop them in one tap. If you send an event enquiry, we use those details to get back to you about your event.

If you ask us for a quote

We use your name, email and number to send you the quote or the invoice and to follow it up, and for nothing else.

What we do not do

We do not build a profile of what you drink in order to sell you things. Your number goes only to the services that do the job you asked for, named above, and never to anyone selling you something. Our analytics do not track you across the web or use cookies to identify you.
